Your complete guide to planning and sharing pub crawls
🍺 How to Create a Pub Crawl
Step 1: Register an Account
Click "Register" in the top menu and create your free account.
Step 2: Submit a Route
- Click "Submit Route" in the menu
- Fill in the basics:
- Title: Give your crawl a catchy name (e.g., "Bradford City Centre Ale Trail")
- Description: Explain what makes this route special
- Region: Where is it? (e.g., "Bradford, West Yorkshire")
- Duration: How long will it take? (e.g., 7 hours)
- Accessibility: Is it wheelchair-friendly?
- Click "Create Route"
Step 3: Add Pubs to Your Route
- Search for existing pubs: Type the pub name or town and click "Search"
- Add them: Click "Add to Route" next to each pub
- Can't find a pub? Scroll down to "Add a New Pub" and fill in the details
- Name, address, postcode (we'll geocode it automatically!)
- What beers do they serve? (Cask, Craft, Cider)
- Accessibility features
- Website/social media links
- Reorder pubs: Drag and drop using the ☰ handle to put them in walking order
- Need at least 3 pubs before you can submit
Step 4: Submit for Review
Once you've added 3+ pubs, click "Submit Route for Review". An admin will check it and publish it within a day or two.
✏️ How to Edit Your Routes
Edit Route Details
- Go to "My Routes" in the menu
- Click "Edit Details" on any route
- Change title, description, duration, etc.
- Click "Update Route"
⚠️ If your route was already approved, editing will send it back for re-approval.
Add, Remove, or Reorder Pubs
- Click "Manage Pubs" on your route
- To reorder: Drag pubs by the ☰ handle - distances update automatically!
- To remove: Click the "Remove" button
- To add more: Search and add as usual
Request Deletion
If you want to delete a published route:
- Go to "My Routes"
- Click "Request Deletion"
- Tell us why (optional but helpful)
- An admin will review and delete it
🏛️ How to Edit Pub Information
Found outdated info? Help keep our pub database accurate!
Update a Pub
- Find the pub: Click on any pub name in a route
- Click "Suggest Edit"
- Update any information:
- Name, address, postcode
- Beer offerings (now serving cask? Update it!)
- Accessibility features
- Website/social media links
- Explain why: e.g., "Pub now serves cask ale" or "Website updated"
- Click "Submit Edit for Approval"
What Happens Next?
An admin reviews your edit and either approves it (changes go live) or rejects it (if something's wrong). You'll see the edit history on the pub page showing who made what changes.
⭐ Rate & Comment on Routes
Rate a Route
- Open any pub crawl route
- Scroll to "Rate This Route"
- Pick 1-5 stars (1 = Poor, 5 = Excellent)
- Click "Submit Rating"
Leave a Comment
- Scroll to the comments section
- Share your experience! Did you complete it? Which pub was best?
- Click "Post Comment"
⚠️ Be respectful! Spam or abusive comments can be reported and will be removed.
🔍 Find the Perfect Pub Crawl
Search by Location
- On the homepage, enter a postcode or town (e.g., "LS1 5DL" or "Leeds")
- Click "Search Routes"
- See all routes near that location
Browse All Routes
Click "Browse" in the menu to see every approved pub crawl on the site.
What You'll See
- ⭐ Ratings: See what others thought
- 📍 Number of pubs: How many stops?
- 🚶 Distance: Total walking distance in km
- ⏱️ Duration: How long it'll take
- ♿ Accessibility: Wheelchair-friendly info

- Plan ahead: Check pub opening times before you start
- Pace yourself: It's a marathon, not a sprint! 🍺
- Stay hydrated: Water is your friend
- Use public transport: Don't drink and drive
- Support local: Try the cask ales and local brews
- Be respectful: Respect pub staff and other customers
- Update us: Found a pub closed or changed? Suggest an edit!
